Stephen is a nationally recognized expert on affordable housing and a leader in the preservation and redevelopment of the nation’s existing affordable housing stock. He has spent more than 30 years at the forefront of complex transactions involving public and private partnerships, specialized funding sources, and multi-layered regulations.
Stephen is a member and former chair of the Urban Land Institute’s Affordable/Workforce Housing Council and frequently speaks at housing conferences throughout the country. He serves on the boards of Ireland Funds America, Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition, Up for Growth National Coalition, ULI Terwilliger Center for Housing (advisory), and the Runstad Department of Real Estate at the University of Washington (advisory).
Scott leads Vitus’s development efforts, increasing access to housing and social services nationwide and proving that vibrant places to live can also be affordable.
Prior to joining Vitus, he was a principal of a real estate management company where he successfully increased portfolio size from 5,000 to 25,000 affordable housing units, honing his expertise in both Section 8 and market rate housing throughout the country.
Scott is the go-to team member for navigating policy, developing relationships with partners, and negotiating multi-layered projects efficiently and effectively.
Roger leads Vitus’s corporate administration, financial reporting, credit and treasury operations, risk management, and information technology platforms. He brings over 20 years of financial and business operations experience to the company.
Prior to joining Vitus in 2012, he worked in executive and senior management positions in the construction, manufacturing and transportation industries, focusing on corporate structuring, private equity acquisitions, private placements, SEC compliance and reporting. Roger began his financial business career with international professional services firm Deloitte & Touche, is a graduate of Washington State University and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.
Outside of Vitus, he currently serves on the board and executive committee of Up For Growth Action promoting federal legislative action for housing production and is a publicly elected Fire Commissioner in the county where he resides.
